The CHM web site recently added a set of 190 images numbered counting down #190 to #001. The numbers correspond to the final part of the long CHM URL for each .jpg file. Of these 190 images, 82 were taken at SAIL, the first Stanford Artificial Intelligence Lab, at the D.C.Power Building 1600 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto, CA. Most likely all on a singe day, 21 April 1976, which is displayed in large block glyphs on a Triple-III display in front of Professor McCarthy in image #35. Also all the figures, e.g. Ted Panofsky wear the same shirt in each picture. The Cart does not have the camera slider modifcation of 1978-1979, and the paint on the upper front window of the lab is still intact and the extra signage still looks "1976-new".

The weeds in front of the building are in bloom and healthy looking, so perhaps springtime March, April or May. The outdoor pictures were taken around noon, slight morning direction on lamp post shadows, short shadows. An interior analog wall clock looks like 5:30 the JPG resolution is awful, typical image is 350x500 under 150KB. So you can not enlarge to see display screen details or the listing paper. If we go to CHM we can scrap dates off screens or read the date on the top of the listing that Ralph is holding in image #163, #162 and #161.

The wall hangings all look familair (image#159, line printer portraits and the PEACE banner, hung there for years), note too the SAIL computer room ceiling is higher than the non-SAIL computer rooms. SAIL has those laminated wood beams. Also the placement of doors and room dividers is either SAIL or non-SAIL.

SAIL images are #175 to #140, #111 to #106, #59 to #55 and #35 to #01 have WHITE background. ( I have now removed the "NOT-SAIL" images from this page, which would have had a GRAY background. )
