Dear Mr. Reyburn

\JI have just received your inquiry concerning SAIL.
I'm not
exactly sure what version of the manual you have, but if it came from
DECUS it is probably rather old, as is SAIL system you have. Unfortunately,
our supply of "distribution" manuals is rather depleted right now. However,
SAIL manuals may be obtained (at a charge of $2.50 a copy) from:\.

\JI'm including a copy of our "incremental" manual, which documents changes
to the language since the last publication of the regular manual.

It is not
entirely clear from your letter exactly what documentation you are after.
The error messages are intended to be self-explanatory, although they
may sometimes fail in that respect (more recent versions of the compiler
and runtime systems are somewhat better).

We are currently preparing a new export version of SAIL, which we plan
to ship off to DECUS around the end of October. This will include copies
of all available documentation, as well as source files, object files,
utilities, etc. If you send us a tape, we can produce a (7-track) copy
for you at about that time. (Alternatively, you can wait a bit longer
and apply directly to DECUS).\.
