At the beginning of every terminal session you must identify both the 
terminal and the account you are using to the computer.  This action
is called a ``logon''.  Leaving the computer system is called a \\logoff''.

To logon, first turn the terminal on.  Check to see that the swithc on the
terminal is set to \bf LINE \rm, not {\bf LOCAL}.  The way you connect the
terminal with the computer depends upon the type of connection you are using.
