		VICARM ANNOUNCES ITS MANIPULATOR SYSTEMS
Vicarm, Inc. of Mountain View, Ca. announces two computer
controlled general purpose manipulators for use as automation
research tools and prototype general purpose assembly systems.

Our Model M.I.T. manipulator system with six-degrees of
freedom, a load capacity of 1 kg. and a working volume of .5 cubic
meter, is suitable for electronics assembly, watch assembly,
calulator assembly, and other small assembly operations.

Our Model Stanford Manipulator system with a load capacity of
4 kg. is suitable for automobile part saaembly, telephone assembly,
machine tool loading, and part inspection.

Both systems are computer based(DEC PDP-11) and all motions
are fully programmable. Existing software includes teach mode
recording of position and motion sequences (practically no limit to
number and length of position sequences. Straight line motions,
tracking of moving belt, search routines are also available.

Accessories include hand mounted touch sensors, and a wrist
mounted 6 axis force sensor.

Systems have already been delivered to the National Bureau of
Standards, M.I.T., Stanford Research Institute, J.P.L., General
Motors Corp., a large semiconductor manufacturer, and others.
