Dear Mom:
\J
I finally found the camera dad last used, and have developed
the pictures in it. As you thought, there is one of him...enjoying
one of his favorite pleasures...eating his breakfast while listening
to WBAI. Amazingly enough, all the pictures on the roll came out
well. I will have copies made if you want.
I talked to Witzling yesterday. I am sending him a draft of
the letter I will send to all the aunts and cousins. I just hope he
doesn't expand this trustee matter too much. I explained to him just
what I wanted to do. I think he understands my desire to keeep
things simple.
I wrote Dick and Ellen a letter last week regarding the
property for sale next to them. Well, Howard ended up buying it
anyway. I still think they should look into buying more property-
even the land on the other side of the river. I talked to Dick last
Thursday also, and I think he knows my position now.
Instead of going up to Petrolia for Thanksgiving, I am
planning on having a grand dinner at my home for a group of friends.
Liz is off from work for the day, and so we are planning a big turkey
dinner.
I am getting some time to pursue my PhD studies a bit
more now. Vicarm is progressing more smoothly these days. We
are financially stable now, even though our growth is slower
than planned. As you know, in September I hired a fellow
from M.I.T. to work for me. Well, it didn't work out, so last
week I fired him. Thus, Vicarm now has only two employees, but the
size doesn't worry me, as we have enough orders to keep us busy for
the next year or so.
I am well, and so is Liz. How are you. I hope that you have
finally settled on what to do for Thanksgiving. Will it be Florida
or will you stay in the city this time?
I'm watching, and so is the whole world. Will the city go
bankrupt before our very eyes, or will they think of some other strategy
to keep the money rolling in and out? I am betting that the city stays
solvent- at least long enough for us to realize our money from the
bonds dad bought. I believe the only critical one is the note he bought last
January. It is due this next January. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
Enclosed are two bill of sale forms from California. Please sign them where
the "X" is. This form is necessary for the transfer of the Volkswagen to my name.
Return them to me when signed.
I hope you are well.\.
