Mr. Bernard A. Goldhirsh
Institute for Advancement of Sailing, Inc.
38 Commercial Wharf
Boston, MA 02110

Dear Mr. Goldhirsh:

\JMay we use the cover design of the August 1976 issue of SAIL magazine
as the cover for a technical reference manual?

A computer programming language called Sail was developed and is used extensively
here at the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. I am preparing
a revision of the reference manual for this language which reflects
the changes and additions since the current manual was published in
June 1973. You permitted us to use the cover design of the June 1973
issue of SAIL magazine as the cover for the current manual,
and it was well received.

Your kind permission will be acknowledged in the new manual. I look forward
to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely yours,

John F. Reiser
