Dear Ellen and Dick:

Well, I thought I'd write you a few words to clue you in in
the plans that are taking shape for the Seder. On Thursday I talked
with Mom. She seems to be in good spirits. Her dinner at Telford's
was extremly pleasant. She also seems to be thriving in her social
activities too, for I called once when her bridge group was meeting
at the house. Apparantly the fellow living at the house is more than
eager to help out. Mom seems anxious for the ground to thaw so she
can put herself and this fellow to work at planting and pruning

The best nights for the Seder are Saturday March 29 or Sunday
March 30. We all know that this is not passover, but it doesnt
matter. If its Sunday, Ellen will have time to recuperate, and the
contingent from Palo Alto will be able to arrive on Saturday around 1
or 2 pm and leave Monday at a reasonable hour. The other alternative-
Saturday night may be appealing to people like Mark and Betty who
must get back by Monday morning (I could then come up on Fri. and
leave Sun. afternoon).

Unless I hear otherwise, I will assume that the Seder will be
on Sunday. We will be four comming up- Liz, Myself, Ron my
housemate, and Fred Bernard. I will plan on bringing the tent so
that Fred Bernard and Mom, will have enough room in the house.

Mom will come directly to Petrolia, via Eureka a week in
advance. I think she is planning to come on Saturday the 22, and get
picked up by Ellen. She can fly down to S.F. when she wants, and stay
a while with me before leaving for N.Y. around April 4 or 5.

I stopped by the Stanford surplus department the other day,
and they have a Hamilton Examining Table with stirrups for sale-
$125. Liz saw it (we were st the hospital to visit her father who is
there to have an artery near his heart replaced) and she says that it
looks in pretty good shape. Its lightweight and has a metal cabinet
under the top. Also, the top extends to become full length, rather
than being one of those big beefy ones. The top is the ususal brown
vinyl plastic. Let me know if you are interested.

I was planning on a trip back East around the 18th of the
month, but since Mom will be comming out a few days after that, I
will try to delay my venture East until after tthe Seder.

Everything else is allright for the present. I still havent
found an acceptable and interested partner for the Company, but am
still looking. It will be a great relief when I can see myself clear
on these arms, and feel sure that all my years of work are amounting
to something. In the meantime, I work and worry and think of
escaping to Petrolia.

Keep an eye out for a place for me too.\.
