Dear Ms. Hallley,

\JHere is a new SAIL system; it contains a number of improvements
and bug-fixes not found in previous versions, including record structures
and an efficient print statement. These features, and many more
are documented in the "incremental" SAIL manual, a copy of which is
enclosed. Please include \F1this\F0 manual update with any copies of the
SAIL manual which you may send out in the future. Also, I am including
a copy of the BAIL user's manual. BAIL is a source-level interactive
debugger for SAIL programs, and is distributed as a part of the SAIL system.
You probably should include BAIL documentation in answer to any requests
for SAIL documentation, and, certainly, with any copies of the system
itself.

The tape was written in FAILSAFE, 9 track,
800 bpi. Unfortunately, the date format on the files lacks the DATE75
correction. This means that you probably ought to read in all files
from the tape, and correct the dates before sending it out.

In the future, we plan to redirect to DECUS most
requests on us for SAIL systems.
Therefore, I would appreciate it if you make sure that this newest
system is in fact the one exported. Also, please send all the files on
the tape.

The file FILES, on the tape, gives the names of all files,
together with short descriptions of each one.
The file TELLEM contains full directions about
how to put up an export SAIL. If I were putting up a system, I'd
get this file & read the pertinent sections before going further.
Could you please pass along this information to anyone receiving
a new system?\.
