Mr. Brian Ford
Eastern Regional Manager
ASEA, Incorporated
White Plains, N.Y.
Dear Mr. Ford:
\J
During the recent Industrial Robotics Symposium, you mentioned ASEA's
interest in licensing an American firm to manufacture and distribute your
industrial robot. The intent of this letter is to express Vicarm's interest
in establishing an agreement with your firm, and also to show you that
Vicarm is eminently qualified to handle all the details related to the modification
and manufacture of such a robot in the United States.
Vicarm is a two year old corporation whose principal products are robots
and accessoried for these robots. We currently manufacture two different sizes and
type of manipulators. Both are electric powered and feature many of the same
drive and design features are your ASEA manipulators. These manipulators were
developed by myself over the past ten years as part of my research work at
Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Their use at
these two institutions has sparked interese at other universities, research
centers, and corporations, ans as a result, Vicarm has improved on the
original design, and no manufactures and sells a very versatile manipulator
system.
