Dear Dr. Neumann:
\JI have received your request for a new SAIL system.
In March of this year we sent a new SAIL system tape, containing the latest
corrections and additions to the language and documentation, to DECUS. We
would prefer that you obtain the new system from them. The address is:\.
Ms. Ferne Halley
DECUS Program Librarian
Digital Equipment Corporation Users Society
146 Main Street
Maynard, Massachusetts 01754
\JHowever, we can supply the new SAIL system directly. If you furnish a
reel of magnetic tape
then we will copy the system onto the tape in 7 track, 556 bpi, COPY format,
and send the tape to you. The complete system includes all source code and
occupies approximately 1,200,000 words, with .REL files alone accounting for
140,000 words; DECtape is an unwieldy medium for distributing the files.
Since we recently sent a system to DECUS, and since handling the distribution
ourselves involves extra work for us,
there is a $50.00 processing charge for performing the copying.
Your two DECtapes are being returned.\.
